Nutrition Tips

The following are small tips that I will publish each time I update my blog:
#1- Consuming bread will cause an inflammatory response in the body and leave you with not only prolonged recovery issues between workouts, but also an expanding waistline due to it's hyperglycemic effect on our pancreatic response with insulin. An easy solution would be to replace the carbohydrate intake you receive from bread with more fruits and veggies!
#2- I know you've heard this time and time again but seriously cut out the soft drinks and even fruit juices as much as possible because they either have a butt-load of excess sugar or some sugar substitute that your body doesn't want to digest properly. Instead, make sure you're drinking PLENTY of water or milk (whole milk for optimal fat content) and grab an actual orange instead of that glass of Minute Maid!
#3- Make sure that you aren't shying away from good fats! Low fat diets are complete BS because so much of our body requires fat to survive such as our central nervous system, our brain, our joints, and our oxidative or aerobic activities. Make sure you are at least trying to incorporate a palm full (literally) of fat per meal. To see more on what foods pack the best fat content, go check out the nutrition page on the link below!
